Seminars & Conferences:

Sat. March 4 —
HWG is partnering with Houston Baptist University for our annual March one day conference.  We will be sponsoring a variety of panels and sessions for this event in conjunction with this great university.  Special thanks to Enos Russell for his help in connecting us with HBU. Guild members will be able to register for this great event for $20.

Annual Guild Conference: Diverse Inspirations — Connecting the Dots will be held on the Rice University Campus.  Some highlights from our lineup are available now on our website.  Soon we will release the full lineup and highlight the agents in our next newsletter.  Holiday pricing will be in effect through Jan. 31.  Members please use the special email link to purchase your registration.  If you don’t have the link, email Membership Director Mack Little at fmlittle@gmail.com

Indiepalooza Conference
This event focuses on marketing, promoting, and other topics of special interest to self-published authors, but many sessions can help all authors. More info coming soon.

Hands-On/Special Series:

Revision Hands-on Series will take place February and March 2017.  Dates, Times, and Locations will vary.  Focus will be on hands-on application of revision strategies.  Cost to members $5 per session; nonmembers $10

Summer Series will be the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of June, July, and August from 6:30 to 8:30pm at the Trini Mendenhall Community Center.  Topics to be determined.  Suggestions Welcome. Cost to members $10 per session; nonmembers $30

Pre-writing Hands-on Series will take place in October. Dates, Times, and Locations will vary.  Focus will be on hands-on application of prewriting strategies to prepare for creating a first draft. As a courtesy for those doing Nanowrimo these sessions will be free to all authors.

On-going Write-Ins:

Throughout the year, the Guild will host write-ins for members and nonmembers to come together and write in an atmosphere of camaraderie.  These are free to all writers.  Visit our website, Facebook page, or stay tuned to these newsletters for specific dates, times, and locations.
